Went out on a boat today. The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing. Very
well maintained boat. I have probably ridden it for 20 years of fishing.
Asked and the boat is 52 years old. Extremely well maintained. We were
fishing Yellowfin tuna today. Had forgot my passport and the Coronado
Island trips require Passport. But the offshore tuna fishing broke open,
so non passport trips were offered. I landed 4 fish, probably to 25
pounds. Lost a couple. Limit is 5. Fish Mexican waters, probably the
most we were South of SD was 35 miles. Rain early this morning, but turned
in to a nice day, fair seas. Am going to test drive the Hobie I11s
inflatable kayak tomorrow. Too hard to get the Outback on top of a 9' RV
roof.
Cool...was this an overnighter or a day trip?
3/4 day. Leave 5:30 am, return 6 pm.
What is the $$$ charge for that? $100 or so? I think I'll be in SD in
the spring, and might have time for a 3/4 day trip.
$150 plus rod rental if not your own. Most of the 3/4 days fish the
Coronado Islands and they now require a passport. We were offshore fishing
tuna so no PP required. We defend illegal visitors , but Mexico arrests
them and confiscates their possessions.
$150 isn't bad. If I manage to get out to SD in the spring, I'll bring
my passport.
