Follow up to Ireland trip. Food much cheaper than NZ!

Air fare is a lot cheaper too. We are still in the planning stage but
we are thinking about flying into Scotland and out of Ireland with a
ferry ride.

Avis guy convinced us to upgrade to a diesel. Would save overall in fuel
costs. Probably correct for 3 weeks. E1.30 vs E1.18 liter. Stick shift.
Left hand shift.

We spent a lot on fuel in NZ, compared to a US trip but in the overall
cost, it was insignificant. (Had a Santa Fe, huge compared to the
average car there)
I haven't really looked at the money thing but in NZ my Bank of
America ATM card worked at Westpak bank with a reasonable transfer fee
and they were everywhere. In these kinds of vacations you have to put
frugality on hold and just have a good time, otherwise, you should
just stay home and catch the early bird at the Olive Garden.
