I am having trouble finding wet weather gear for my 8 year son
So far i have only come across ronstan XXS size, still too big.
I heard of a british firm who does small sizes fore children but I
don't know the name
Any suggestions for points of contact or alternatives would be
appreciated Thankyou Bruce
Kids that age grow too quickly for quality marine wet weather gear to be
a good investment (and I hope you're not intending to keep the mite
pinned to the rail for 16 hours at a time or working the foredeck under
green water g)
I found that medium quality nylon (?) (not the real thin plasticy stuff)
jackets and pants (IIRC the brand name was Viking) did a pretty good
job. New set in 18 months or two years when grown out of.
Remember, heat loss is as the 7th power of body mass. Little kids can
be in hypothermia before you're even beginning to feel cold. Rug 'em up
warm with a couple of jumpers underneath, and a neck towel and cap.
