Nissan sent an email this afternoon stating that they have agreed to buy

They also offered a check for $3,500 instead and I keep the car.
I'd be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and hold Nissan
harmless for this particular problem. Other warranties would remain in
affect.

I don't know what makes them think I'd accept the $3,500 and keep the
car. Maybe I should though. For $200 and maybe another $100 to pay
someone to install a heat control valve, I'd be ahead of the game.
But, I told them "no". I prefer a full buy back.

They also required copies of the registration, the title and wanted
pictures of the car, outside and inside. Went to the dealership to get
the pictures and they couldn't find the car. Funny as hell. They
finally located it in an overflow lot they have.

I gave Nissan the full purchase price including trades, registration
fee, title fee, sales tax and a dealership "administration" fee that I paid.

She has to verify those numbers with information from the dealership.

They will then send a formal offer to buy back the car. If acceptable, I
sign, return and wait. She said it could take 2-4 weeks.

You can't fight city hall. It is what it is. Blowing my cork and
stamping my feet won't do anything. Meanwhile, I'll just keep driving
around in the Pathfinder rental/loaner that Nissan is paying for.
