I was very lucky that the other tire on that side, a Carlisle, didn't go
also. That would have been
a real mess. All ended up well. I got the tire changed (patting myself on
the back for that!), and
we continued on. The spare is also an Akuret, but luckily it made it the
20-30 miles we had left to
go. The new Carlisle will take it's place and the Akuret will be trashed.
I'll get another Carlisle
to use as a spare.


I would go with other than Carlisles. Had 4 destroy themselves in a year.
Caught one that the tread had separated when I had another shred. Junk.
Forget what I have on the trailer now, but they have a few thousand on
them.

I've heard good things about the Carlisles. But, we'll see. Goodyear is now making a tire in the
states, the Goodyear Endurance.

The Goodyear Marathons have a horrid reputation, so if the Carlisles don't work out, the Endurances
will be next.
