Not the point. I worked for "the guvmint" for a year. The adventure was
worthwhile, the pay was...adequate. I turned down two big league
"guvmint" jobs, one with the Department of Agriculture and one (twice,
actually) for the private corporation that runs the USPS.
Maybe you should have accepted the jobs. You might be less frustrated
with for-profit corporations.
