I said earlier, I bet you either have bears or will have soon. They
are rapidly expanding their habitat and coexist with humans quite well
,,, until someone gets hurt. I bet hogs will find their way to you
soon too. You may not be as accepting of them when they start rooting
up all of your wife's ornamental plants. At that point you may start
rethinking the idea of "feeding the birds".


* About once a year, a little mouse finds its way into the house...and
one of my cats plays with it for a while and unless we catch the mouse
and release it outside, the cat rips it to shreds.


I think we have a rat in the screen cage (or garage) somewhere but I
have not been able to catch him. If there is still any indication of
that when I get home, I am catching a snake and turning him loose in
there.
Within a week or two there will not be anything else living in there.
(frogs, lizards or rodents)
