Amen. Crossed the border to visit Montreal while on a motorcycle trip. Had to unpack the entire bike
at the Canadian border to show we weren't carrying weapons. Another time was questioned and
threatened with searches for a good 15-20 minutes at the Niagara Falls crossing. Unreal.

My guess is an attitudinal thing...my experience at the Canadian border
is that "friendly" works in both directions.* If you are by nature
snarly about what the government does and is doing, and the border
federales suspect that, you're going to get the FlaJim/John Herring
