Default Does anyone see the irony

There has been an ongoing debate about schools, parks, rivers etc named after Edward Cornwallis who founded Halifax.
Local native Americans complain that he issued a bounty for their scalps in the mid 1700s.
Already a Jr High School has been renamed. A big source of friction is a city block sized park downtown that has a larger than life sized bronze statue of Cornwallis on a granite base. They want the park renamed and the statue removed.
