I noticed that you were not "getting a lot of action."

I have not been in 16 years, but I do have great memories. We went in
85, 86, 88. We noticed significant changes in those years, I expect
there have been many others.

I would like any info on Chartering a yacht in Turkey

Suggested charter Company

We chartered with the Yacht Cruising Association (now Sunsail).

Itenary

Fethiye Bay is a must. Lots of anchorages with ruins. Enjoyed
Xanthus. Marmaris is (was) pretty. Kekova is great. Knidus is
spectacular. Iassos was interesting. Dalyan and Caunus also
worthwhile. Gemile Adasi is also a must.

Hidden Traps

Bodrum - way too busy, way too pushy.

Many small villages are quite traditional. Women should keep their
shoulders covered and skirts are a good idea.

Weather & wind in June/July

Have sailed in July - hot on land but cooler on the water. Meltemis
can be a problem. Spend 2 days waiting one out.

Any thing else you can think of

We sailed in flotilla and really enjoyed meeting folks from all over
the world. The skipper's briefing were beneficial. It was comforting
having a bosun/engineer available. The hostess was great for
briefings regarding tavernas, provisioning and shopping.

Many of the shore facilities are quite basic. Many of the toilets
were "standers" . Women might want to wear skirts when going ashore.

Have a great trip - I am envious. If anything else comes to mind I
will post again.

Jack
