The USCGC Rollin A. Fritch (WPC 1119) is the United States Coast
Guard's 19th Sentinel class cutter, and the first to be stationed
outside of Florida or Puerto Rico.[1][2] The Rollin A. Fritch will be
stationed in Cape May, New Jersey.

Rollin A. Fitch was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for his
selfless and heroic action to remain on station in defense of his ship
and crewmembers while under heavy enemy fire during an attack on
transport ship USS Callaway off the coast of Luzon, Philippines in
1945.

The Sentinel-class cutter, previously known as the Fast Response
Cutter, is part of the United States Coast Guard's Deepwater program.
At 46.8 metres (154 ft) it is similar to, but larger than the eight
unseaworthy[4] 123-foot (37 m) lengthened 1980s-era 110-foot
Island-class patrol boats, like USCGC Matagorda taken out of service
in December 2006. Up to 58 vessels are to be built by the
Louisiana-based firm Bollinger Shipyards, using a design from the
Netherlands-based Damen Group, with the Sentinel design based on the
company's Damen Stan 4708 patrol vessel.

Interesting. A lot more superstructure than the Island Class they are
replacing. Could almost have a bowling alley inside there.

A lot lower then most CG boats of that size too. It wa a grab shot
because her AIS was off that day .
