Not quite what I had in mind. I am looking for the controllable pitch
prop. Being able to change the pitch on the go makes it very economical,
although it will take a long time to pay off the prop with fuel savings.
The ability to go from full ahead to full astern without changing engine
speed is useful.

I have an 18" VP (variable pitch) MaxProp on my Beneteau Oceanis 390,
and it works great in both forward and reverse.
