Yes, unless you can bribe the guy at West to do the splice on your boat.

If you buy the new line at West, they will splice it for a nominal
charge. Splicing is more art than science, and you'll probably mess up
enough line practicing to cover the charge. To install it, remove the
screw that holds the 2 1/2s of the toothed thingy together, and pull
them apart -- a small piece will drop out -- put it back with the open
end toward the entrty/exit area of the sheave.

up the set-up (line installed backward/upside down). We struggled with

waiting for the repair but Racine Riverside blew me off. Now in

dry-dock,

the line could use a change, showing its wear. Any direction is much
appreciated. I'll no doubt have other questions as I seek to set her up
properly. Thanks.
