Continuous Line Replacement
Yes, unless you can bribe the guy at West to do the splice on your boat.

Thanks. I think I have to disconnect the forestay, using the jib halyard to
stabilize the mast, and slip it around the drum. Sound right?

If you buy the new line at West, they will splice it for a nominal
charge. Splicing is more art than science, and you'll probably mess up
enough line practicing to cover the charge. To install it, remove the
screw that holds the 2 1/2s of the toothed thingy together, and pull
them apart -- a small piece will drop out -- put it back with the open
end toward the entrty/exit area of the sheave.

I have to change the continuous line on my Hood roller furler. Is there
instruction anywhere on splicing the line? Is that what I need to do? I
got
the boat in July after Gatti Marine and Racine Riverside in Wisconsin
messed
up the set-up (line installed backward/upside down). We struggled with
it
waiting for the repair but Racine Riverside blew me off. Now in
dry-dock,
the line could use a change, showing its wear. Any direction is much
appreciated. I'll no doubt have other questions as I seek to set her up
properly. Thanks.
