My grandson graduated from the USCG boot camp today. His mother (my
daughter) and her husband drove down to attend the ceremony. The Coast
Guard also streamed live video, so anyone interested, including us old
grandparents, could watch. As to be expected, it was an impressive
ceremony.
One thing that they did that I thought was really cool was to have
family members who were veterans of any of the military branches present
the graduation certificate as the first person in the receiving line.
Here's my son-in-law ... a Navy vet ... returning a salute from his
newly hatched "Coastie" son.

Congratulations are in order.
It occurred to me while watching the ceremony that they should have
college students who are demanding "safe rooms", holding cry-ins and
being consoled with service dogs attend one of these ceremonies, either
from the enlisted boot camp or a graduation at one of the service
academies. Might put things in the proper perspective for them to see
what being grown up is all about.
