We Canadians aren't quite as wasteful as y'all south of the border.
Throwing something out while still somewhat useful would stick in my craw.

I have the same thought about computers but Harry beats me up about
it. I guess we are talking about a computer tho.

The sort of "artwork" you might produce on an etch-a-sketch would be
worthy of consideration for a Goodenough–Harris Draw-a-Person test. I'm
sure you'd do well in these sorts of non-verbal tests, "well" being
another interesting word in your psychological and mental competency
evaluation.
