One of my Page County, Virginia buddies out there by the Shenandoah, a
guy who is completely non-political, says he is planning to buy a .308
rifle to scare off the "assholes who put Trump yard signs on his
property along the state highway without permission." I don't think
he'll shoot any of them, but I'm guess their pick-me-up truck tires
might be targeted if he catches them.

And that's not being political?

Yeah, he didn't want anyone's political signs up on his property. The
property is posted -no trepassing, no hunting, et cetera.

He should be sure it is actually his property. Usually the state owns
30-40 feet from the centerline of the road. That is even true in
little neighborhood streets. It is 33 feet (from C/L) in front of my
house. If I wanted, I could make the county mow the first ~10 feet of
my yard. It was the same in Clinton. I found that out when I wanted to
widen my driveway. I ended up making it 25' wide on my part and the
existing single lane in the ROW.
