Harry,

Please forward my US$100 to John Herring. He is acting as my
proxy.

Thank you in advance,
Alex

I'll be delighted to send the proceeds to you at your name and
at your
street address in Florida. You can forward the needed info to me
at:

I don't deal with racists like Herring or with proxies. That wasn't
part of the wager when it was made, and I don't accept those as
modified terms.

I don't plan on being "here" much, so please communicate to the
above-referenced email at your earliest convenience.

Thanks.
Let's run this down...

1) You certainly won't be delighted to pay - everyone knows that.
2) The wager was simple and clear.
3) No "modification" of terms is requested - there were no terms.
4) It's really none of your business, but I owe John $100 for a
charitable arrangement we made and the timing of your loss is
perfect to
help facilitate that. You aren't against charity are you?

Why am I not surprised that you would try to slither out of a
gentleman's bet?

Jesus, I will send you the stamp. Just take the check when it is
offered and endorse it over to John is that is what you want to do
with the money.

That's not the point. If I lost the bet the check would have been in
the mail yesterday.

I would stick to your guns and not forward your mailing address to
Harry. He seems to like building a database of where people live.
He's been trying to figure Justan's address out for years, to no avail.

I like to think of Harry as a mushroom. Keep him in the dark
andcover him with manure. :-)
Any snow up there yet?

No! It *is* turning colder though, with temps dropping well below
freezing at night.

BTW ... ol' Sam Adams is no longer with us. He developed some kind of
growth or tumor in his spine that caused his
hind legs to spasm and sometimes give out on him. I nursed him along
for the past 7 months when this first began ... built a ramp for him
to get in and out of the house (he could no longer do stairs) but it
continued to get worse. He was approaching 12 years old, had other
issues as well and even the vet said it was time. He was a great dog.
Miss having him around.

Sorry about that. Losing a pet is not an easy thing. I cried when I
lost a cat I had for 16 years.
