Surprising that the old in line four MerCruiser 3.0 is still available in 2016 boats. Guess there is a warehouse full of them somewhere. I was a bit concerned about the old technology but it runs fine except for being a bit rough idling when cold.
Almost wish it had a manual choke. We sure are spoiled by EFI.


I think there's a conspiracy to do away with manual chokes. I never had a problem starting lawn
mowers with a manual choke. The new ones, without the manual choke, are supposed to start on the
first pull. I've seen several that won't start on the tenth pull! The absence of the manual choke
has been a boon to lawn mower repairmen.
