That's just...stupid.

Of the 94 million working age people who are just sitting out the
employment scene, your liberal arts graduates are well represented.
Most are "under employed" if they are working.
Those middle level management jobs they were qualified for just do not
exist in any great quantity. That was downsized away along with the
rest of the well paying jobs we lost in the 90s and early 2000s. Ask
