Is the Donald being sold short?

I don't think he'll be getting my vote.
TR lived a fairly honorable life as far as I know. Donald,
not so
much. What you see is what you get.

I am not sure any of those weasels has lived what I would call an
honorable life.
I bet the Trump we see in the general (if he gets there) will
not be
the guy we see now,
That is the biggest problem we have with this primary process.
The primary candidates need to appeal to their party's most far
pout
fringe to win the primary, then they need to run to the center
to be
elected. In the last half dozen presidential elections I have
said,
they passed each other in the middle. That was really true with
Clinton and Dole. Clinton was already pretty far right by 96 and
Dole
was to the left of him by the election.

Yesterday on the big morning TV news shows, Trump refused to walk
away
from the support he is receiving from David Duke and the right-wing
hate
groups and also defended his use of a tweeted quote from the
fascist,
Mussolini.

He has said dozens of really horrific things over the past six
months,
and he continues to say them. All these statements are on
videotape.
They define Trump and he will not be allowed to walk away from
them if
he gets the nomination. He is without question as sleazy as the GOP
base
that loves him. He will be forced to be the guy he is now.

The attempt to show Trump in a favorable light in the
comparison to
TR is odious.

Oh, by the way, Trump claiming he doesn't know who David Duke
is...is
bull****:

Trump knew exactly who and what David Duke was back in 2000:

"The Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr.
Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. Fulani," the New York Times quoted
Trump
saying in a statement. "This is not company I wish to keep."

Obviously and odiously, Trump is going for the base of rec.boats.

And Hillary's newly adopted pandering is going for what?

Hillary isn't pandering to racists like your new hero, Trump, is.

Who said Trump is my hero?

You might be very surprised as to who I would vote for this year,
assuming I even bother to vote.

Richard, Harry just cant figure it out.

Harry is just being Harry. It tickles me though to see him react when
anything even slightly positive is said about a candidate other than his
favorite. That's really why I post what I post. He's very predictable.
Strange though, for a guy who boasts so much of his superior
education and intellect that he thinks in such a binary fashion.

Then again, I know he doesn't. He does what he does just to maintain
his reputation.

That's just simple-minded conservative bull****. While Hillary is my
preference because she can win the general, I have no problems with
Bernie or Martin. The three leading Republicans, on the other hand,
consist of a loud-mouthed asshole, a crazy right wing extremist asshole,
and an empty suit.

To quote one of my favorites but not your's:

"There you go again"

:-)

As for who I'll vote for (assuming I even vote) ... I'll quote your
favorite but not mine:

"What, at this point, difference does it make?"

*If* I even bother to vote, I'll probably feel the Berne. Of all the
candidates, he's the most honest and even though I don't agree with a
lot of his ideas, I also know he'll never move into the White House.
