Classical music is so much more enjoyable, I think, when one can watch it being
performed.

I can't get over how nice a You Tube video can sound on a PC stereo system, although
my wife, who has company, asked me to put on the headphones.

This is simply magnificent. Best viewed on full screen.

Of course, not highbrow enough for some.

Bernstein was always superb at getting the best out of an orchestra,
and Beethoven's music is so accessible that it can really be enjoyed
by just about anyone.

I love watching the guy.

Next month, the NSO will be playing Ludwig's 6th, a delightful work.

Yes, but why spend the bucks and do the hassle when the volume isn't adjustable, eh?
Remember, I'm not an audiologist with highbrow audiophile ears like you.

Because seeing a large-scale symphony played by an good orchestra in a
hall in person is a totally different and better experience than
listening to it on a computer or even audiophile sound system. For
openers, the sound isn't "squeezed" into small boxes. It sounds more
like the composer had in mind. Just put some super batteries in those
hearing aids and enjoy.
