Was listening to an old friend who is a well known radio and tv

Got a kick out of his quote... "there goes the neighbourhood"
They are saying we have flights from Ft Myers early next year

I believe there are flights from Miami right now. I'm still scheming
and dreaming to go there on our boat. It looks like trip insurance
may be just as big a hurdle as USCG red tape.
What? Your regular insurance doesn't cover bullet holes?
I think the current flights from Miami are just the humanitarian
program flights, not regular tourism.

There's no such thing as regular tourism yet. Congress has to act
first. Until then you have to fit into one of the twelve permitted
categories.
About 16 years ago my youngest daughter went to visit family in Cuba. She
said she kissed the ground when she returned from Cuba. Things were bad
for the ordinary people. Maybe tourism will help them.
Like Mexico, they will probably hide the poverty and keep the tourists
in a nice, happy, place.
Like they do in Mexico and the Bahamas?
Exactly. The Bahamas is a cesspool outside of the tourist areas and
they aren't safe. Southern New Providence (where Nassau is located) is
a dump littered with criminals that also prey on tourists when they can.
