My brother was a SeaBee. Spent 3 summers in the Antarctic. He said the
summer storms could get -70f. Winter, they did not know how cold it could
get. The Russian station had their thermometer freeze at -129 f.

The funny part to me, was his next station was Guam. Definitely not
freezing.
