Default Waxing plastic boats

Has anyone heard of or has done any waxing to their plastic Kayak?

I speak of the same sort of waxing that someone might wax their surf

board,
using what's knows as "Sex Wax".

This is done to create less resistance on the water..

Actually, one waxes up the upper deck of a surf board in order to make

it
less slippery and easier to stand up on without falling off.
I know some more anal types of kayakers who will use paste wax on their
composite boats. But this is pretty much purely for cosmetic reasons. The

only
thing I will regularly use on a boat, plastic or otherwise, might be

Formula
303 UV inhibitor.

FWIW, 303 Products specifically recommends against using wax, primarily
because most waxes contain petro distillates that attack gelcoat and vinyl
but also because they interfere with subsequent applications of 303.

Self-serving pap for commercial gain? Maybe. But 303's the only stuff I'll
use too.
