It is amusing that they are making it sound l;ike Mao's troops pretty
much beat Japan by themselves and the reality is that the nationalist
army was the only significant force. I guess they waited 70 years and
hope nobody remembers.

I am not sure I want them to if it is just about some unoccupied
islands that they have been arguing about for 200 years.

It would certainly be a place where the ownership was less ambiguous.

China has pledged to solve its territorial disputes peacefully. Further,
despite its massive military parade, China has announced it plans to cut
its military forces by 300,000, and concentrate more on technological
advances. Since the end of the U.S. War Against Vietnam, China has
invaded far fewer countries and destroyed their governments than we
have.
