Wait, maybe it's not all the fault of Republicans:

– Lawmakers remain mired in partisanship and power plays. The Republican-controlled
House of Representatives has passed three California water bills, each crafted by the
GOP with minimal Democratic input. Republicans counter that Democrats won’t support
anything that provides real relief.

That last line is true of many, many problems this country faces from poor education
to inner city strife to racial disharmony.

Of course, tougher gun laws would fix most of that.
