My wife never trusted me to do any landscaping work in the 15 years
we've lived in this house ... or even mow the lawns. She felt more
comfortable paying a professional landscaper to do it all. I was
allowed to take care of the old "farm house" property when we owned it.

But this year (mainly because I don't have a lot to do) I convinced her
that I can do it. It gave me an excuse to buy a new John Deere riding
mower and a Husqvarna self propelled push mower (for the tight spaces)
for about what we were paying landscapers in 2-3 months.

I found the secret of pruning and trimming also. Just cut all the
bottom stuff off whatever the bush is so it looks like a small tree.

Don't want self-propelled. Need the exercise. I just noticed that Troy is selling it
for $6 less than Lowes. Probably have to pay postage though, and I sure wouldn't get
my 10% military discount.
