Default dismal swamp paddle

sorry about that
we put in at the public boat ramp on US17 then go south on the historic
dismal awamp canal aprox. 1 mile to the canal into the dismal swamp refuge ,
it is almost 3 miles of canal back to the spillway that seperates lake
drummond from the canal ,another mile in takes you to a huge but shallow
lake with dark tannin stained waters from the cyprus trees that envelope the
lake .there is primitave camping at the spillway with bathrooms but no
drinking water . the lake conditions vary from glass on one trip to almost
witecaps on another but the trip back through the canal is always cool
because of the canopy of trees .look for bald eagles ,deer ,and sometimes
even bear while in the area.
its always a remarkable trip and you see very few people during the outing .

boy that was descriptive. how about some information ... like, where did
you put in, where did you take out, what's the water like, what did you

see,
how long was the trip, how were the bugs, --- stuff.
