The wife and I just finished chopping the 7" to 8" ice to widen our sidewalk to it's full width. man...that flash freeze way back in February is still causing us grief. Finally poked what was left of the back roof ice dam down. Sunny and mild today...maybe spring has finally sprung.
Have faith. Just about all our snow and ice has finally melted. Just a
few places here and there that remain snow covered. Most of the ice
on top of the pool cover has melted. Just a small amount left.
Last night I stuck my head outside to the sound of frogs croaking and
crickets chirping. Sure sign of warmer weather.
Two or three times a day our upstairs deck gets a visit from a pair
of Mourning Doves. Happened to take a picture of this one yesterday.
It didn't look right so I googled up info on them. Apparently this
is a young one that is molting it's first feathers and getting adult
ones. That's why some of it is brown instead of the adult grey.
It also probably explains the exposed white feather stems.
