A new bill introduced in the Texas state legislature makes it
illegal
for average citizens to record police officers within a certain
area.
House Bill 2918, which was introduced by Dallas Rep. Jason
Villalba, a
Republican, would make such an act a Class A misdemeanor.

If passed, average citizens would have to be 25 feet away from
a police
officer when recording and Texans carrying a handgun would have
to be
100 feet away when recording. In a tweet, Villalba wrote, "To
anyone who
doesn't like HB 2918 - Deal with it. I stand with cops who keep my
family safe. If you don't like it - vote me out of office."

That tweet was subsequently deleted and replaced with another one
reading, "HB 2918 is meant to protect officers, NOT restrict
the ability
to keep them accountable. It DOES NOT prohibit filming."

Because, you know, cops shouldn't have to answer when they
shoot and
kill unarmed citizens, eh?

Without the ridiculous assertion about unarmed people, I would
agree
with you. Cops have no expectation of privacy at work.
... nor do bureaucrats or politicians.

If a pair of cops, and usually they are out in pairs, can't
subdue an
unarmed guy without using deadly force, perhaps they should find
another
line of work.

Eric Garner is an example of NOT using deadly force in any overt way
and he died too.

BTW where do you see 2 cop cruisers? TV? I understand it might be
tore
in LA
It was one guy on a car in DC, Maryland and Florida.
I never saw 2 cops in a car in all of our travels in the western
states and those cars were few and far between.
There was only one cop in Wilson's car.

Around here, if a cop pulls you over, there's another cop backing
he or
she up within a minute.

Wow, that must be one bad place you live. Around here, the only
time I see more than one cop at a traffic stop is when there's an
accident.

How many traffic stops have you seen (or been involved with) that
happened while you were looking, then you timed it to see that
backup arrived "within a minute"?

You're so full of ****...

Yup.

About every time I see a traffic stop on the main route here, there
are two cop cars or if there is one, a backup arrives while I am
driving by. That your experience in viewing these stops might differ
only means your experience might differ.

I must say, you two boys have "assholes" down pat.

So they are *not* "out in pairs"? Which is it?
