Fortunately, although getting long in the tooth, I am apparently healthy
overall. I haven't shoveled and dealt with so much snow and ice in
many moons and so far the ticker keeps ticking.
We are less than 10 inches away from the most snowfall in a winter since
records starting being kept 130 years ago. What makes it worse is that
all but 5.5 inches have fallen in the month of February. More tonight
and the possibility of another major storm on Wednesday. I have a
feeling the trend is changing though. I think (or am at least hopeful)
that the storm on Wednesday will end up going out to sea"
Just came downstairs after a session of reaching out a 2nd story
window to clear snow/ice from the roof of the addition We put on in
2002/03 for mom.
I had gone out and brought the round mouth shovel ( that's creating
such a stir in JohnnyMop and his raggedy little band of moppetts) into
the house to increase my reach. Expecting rain and then another flash
freeze tomorrow.
When will it ever end?
I can completely understand. I tried shoveling a path out to the cabana
today with a typical "winter" snow shovel. All it did was
bend and eventually split. I had to go find my *summertime" steel dirt
shovels to make any headway.
I'm not shoveling any damned snow. We get our mail at a centralized
neighborhood kiosk on the part of the road the county plows. The UPS guy
always stomps across the lawn to toss packages on the front steps. If my
4-wheeler can't make it out the driveway, we'll wait until the snowplow
contractor gets to us. **** snow and the guy who brought it!
I haven't given up quite yet .... but am getting close.
