Default (Q) Outfitting: which adhesive?

Thanks Brian,

I was thinking epoxy was the obvious choice, but wanted to be sure. Bell
Canoe Works (the canoe is a Bell Magic) sells a special "SuperBond" at $15 a
tube for attaching them. :-) I have lots of epoxies at home....

Good paddling,
Bob Scott

Epoxy. Clean the area, then roughen it slightly with 80-100 grit
sandpaper. Do not sand through to the Kevlar! Thicken the epoxy with
Cabosil (fumed silica) and bond the brackets in place. Thickening the
epoxy is necessary in order to make sure that it doesn't run or squeeze
out of the joints. Apply light pressure to the joint until the epoxy
cures. You'll probably find it easiest to turn the boat on its side and
do one side at a time.
