rafting knives

I am a blind rafter and I also love outdoor style knives. What is a good
knife to take white water rafting, and what different situations call for
using a knife on a river trip?
I'm not sure what rafting hazards would require a knife, but if
entanglement is the main hazard, you might want to consider one of the
Benchmade Rescue hooks rather than a knife. They slice through rope,
cord and webbing effortlessly, but unlike a knife, they can't impale you
or your raft. I use their Model 6 H2O for sea kayaking and keep a knife
in with my food, where it's actually useful.
BTW, the Gerber River Shorty knives that are often touted are worse than
useless as they come out of the package. I have never seen a factory
"edge" that's so dull. You couldn't cut yourself on one if you tried!
