Greg, I'm sure they're multi big outboards too!

I see a Yellowfin 36 running around here with twin "7 Marines" and
there is a rumor of one with trips.
More likely to see on offshore boats is twin or trip 300s
My neighbor had a 36' CC with twin 250s but he says it is barely
enough.
The guy with the 26' and twin 250s says that is about right.

I just chuckle when they blow by me and I an burning a gallon or two
an hour.

I felt the same way about the Grand Banks. Not very fast but only
burned a little over a gallon/hr at cruise. With a 500 gallon fuel
tank, it had quite a range. I was half thinking of taking it on a trip
south at one point and calculated that I could make it from just south
of Boston to Fernandina Beach Florida on one tank of fuel with plenty of
reserve.

After a while I found that cruising at 7 knots was very relaxing.
You knew were weren't getting anywhere in a hurry so you tended to
enjoy the ride and views more. Probably similar to what people
enjoy about sailing.
