police unions is to protect its members and make sure they receive due

So, do "unarmed citizens" commit acts of violence on police? Perhaps resisting arrest? Or like punching them through their windows, while seated in their cars, then try to grab their guns?
Yes they do.

The only possible reason to grab at a LEOs gun it to try and shoot
him. Anything that happens after is entirely justified. Some people
don't want to understand that because it suits their political agenda.
