The report I heard was that the drawbridge malfunctioned and
dropped as
the boat was transiting under the bridge.
That makes sense. There doesn't appear to be any shear damage. The boat
was probably in dead slow ahead mode.
It's also for sale. Original asking price was $21 million. You could
probably pick it up at a steep discount now.
Why would I want to buy a broken drawbridge?
You could always do what any self respecting Floridian would do. You
could sit under the closed drawbridge and give the finger to all the
snowbirds. :-)
