It looks like an old Lettmann Mark V. A lot of those boats were made
by licensed manufacturers (Old Town made some) and also some home
mades from molds owned by various clubs. I've got an old one in the
basement, but I'm away right now so I don't know if its identical -
the cut outs around the knees were pretty distinctive

I've got a friend who just bought an ancient fiberglass Borealis
Kayaks Works boat. It appears to be a whitewater boat, judging by the
shape (looks like the old Perception style). I can't seem to find any
information about it anywhere. Anyone out there have some knowledge or
experience with these?

Old memory cells stirring to life ... I *think* that this was
likely built in Ann Arbor, MI in the 1980s(?). The design was
"adapted" from a commercial boat (could be the Lettmann) . You got a
price break if you participated in the building process. If this *is*
what I think it is, I know who the designer/builder was (but won't
post it on an open news group) ... he has a degree in Naval
Architecture.
