I use my Coast Guard skill set every time I am out in my boat.
The welding comes in handy now and then and I like rope work and
knowing how to quickly tie a dozen knots.

If I really felt the need to work I could go for an IT manager and
network administrator gig. There is plenty of that work available but
I would be more likely to pull out my inspector's license and go work
for one of the engineering companies in town. I prefer working outside
to sitting in an office.

My wife got a call for an interesting opportunity, CAM for a builder,
turning over neighborhoods to the HOA. That is a buck and a quarter to
a buck fifty but it involves a lot of meetings, mostly at night. The
lady who called knows us both and offered to either of us. I have
taken the CAM course, when I was getting into the HOA business here, I
just did not get the license.
Even with the money, that would be my least favorite choice.



The worst decent job I ever had was with the NEA. It was, basically, a
never-ending meeting. Teachers in those days sure liked meetings.
