Hamburg #3 - Hamburg under Bridge 21 2014-0927 IMG_8897.jpg
That is a real shame that those roads were blocked off . I remember
you could drive on both sides and get some fantastic shots from
some upper levels especially on the west side of the canal in the
afternoon . And you had plenty of time because as you well know
the ships go very slowly through there .
The first time I was there was right after the openning for the season
in late March . There were some interesting ice bergs
floating around .Took lots of slide images . Very bright up there,
not like the haze and muck of the mid attlantic reagion where I'm
kinda stuck for the moment .

No you can't drive along the dirt roads, or get near the approach
walls. Lots of security increases sine 9-11. Most blamed on US
government requirements. Although some of the approach wall stuff I
blame on stupid people of whatever nationality. I think that some of
the fences could have been done better so that people could still be
safe, and get decent pictures.

Very Nice !
I visited the Welland Canal several times in the early 80s .
Can you still drive along the dirt roads in between the locks and
bridges?
Great place to photogragh the lakers and other vessels .
