As to Colorado, they figured big
tax revenues. The legal pot has so many taxes and fees, that it is about
2X the price of pot on the treet. $250 vs. $125 or that range.
A guy I know in Boulder seems to think it may be twice as good as the
regular ragweed on the street.
Evidently a little dab will do ya and a joint would put you in a coma.
It has been so long for me, just watching someone smoke might give me
a buzz. Back in the old $10 a bag days I am not sure there was hardly
any THC in the leaves, sticks and seeds we sorted through. I know I
never saw one of those fuzzy buds you see on TV now.
I "came of age" in the 60's. You either became a hippy or remained a
carry over from the greaser days of the 50's. I guess I was the latter.
Never grew my hair long or got into the psychedelic thing. Stayed
clear of drugs when I started college and then in the military. I was
more of a professional beer drinker when I was younger. Funny though, I
noticed over the years that the old farts (60 or over) didn't drink beer
often. Then, as I approached 60 I began to understand why. I still
love the taste of a cold Sam Adams but it no longer likes me. Get gassy
and bloated feeling and feel like crap, so I basically gave it up. The
light beers like Coors Lite taste like ****, so I rarely drink any.
I'll have one or two every 3 months or so and I usually regret it
afterwards. Never developed a taste for the "hard stuff".
I never got into the drug scene. I tried pot once or twice in high
school but I really didn't like the feeling it gave me. During my
working career some of the defense contracts we had required security
clearances and drug testing so it wasn't worth the risk of experimenting.
Once, after some oral surgery, I took an Oxycontin that the dentist
prescribed. I think I had a plastic bottle containing ten of them.
I took one and did not like the feeling it produced. Flushed the rest
down the toilet the next morning.
The only pills I take are aspirin and even those I don't take often.
Probably two every two months if I have a headache.
I had plenty of opportunities at the guitar shop, that's for sure.
Had a guy come in one day. I knew him pretty well. He wanted to
purchase a particular guitar but was about $150 short of the asking
price. He pulled a big bag of pot out of his pocket and asked if I'd
accept it towards the guitar. Cracked me up. Told him, "No thanks, I
am allergic to the ****".
