Yes, we were afraid the North would turn it's attention to us after
defeating the South.

Only trouble is... the new confederation was tilted in favour of
Ontario and Quebec and Nova Scotia quickly dropped from probably
the richest province to a poor cousin after it's normal trading
partners in the Boston States disappeared.

You lucked out...remaining a province of Canada. Had you been taken over

by the USA, you'd be as backwards and racist as we are.

It must just be a Maryland thing. The only Klan rally I ever saw was

about 20 miles from your house, over in Chuck County.

Right...without the Klan, there is no racism. I got it. D'oh.

You missed the rest of the post I guess. There is more racism in the

north these days than there is in the south. You just hide it with

money. Rich white people create enclaves that blacks can't afford to

move into.

I'll be sure to tell that to the three black homeowners in our

subdivision at the annual meeting of the association. Sadly, the black

family who lived diagonally across the street moved "uptown" to

Annapolis, another place out of reach for blacks. Sadly, because the

wife of the family was a Halle Berry look-alike, except younger and

prettier.

You make the mistake to think that you're a "rich white person". You're
not. Failure to pay taxes and your creditors does not grant you entry into that club.
