I am considering the purchase of a pygmy kayak. It requires

Hi,
but do consider building it yourself...in spite of inexperience! :-)
Thanks Melissa. I'll consider it, but I have an impatient 3-year old
who may not endure my inexperience.
Sound like you've got shop help as well. The 3-year old probably won't be a
lot of help but it would be a great father-son/daughter project.
I also know a woman that had no woodworking experience whatsoever and built
a Pygmy Coho (in her living room, no less). It came out really nice. After
she finished she immediately started working on a cedar strip baidarka (a
difficult design to build) and it came out gorgeous as well. There are
likely dozens of others that have built kit S&G boats despite little or no
woodworking experience.
