The one flying yesterday would not be harmless to spectators, or their
property, remember we are camped and packed tight as sardines in these
areas. The one flying the other day could kill my rider if she hit it
coming off a big jump because it caught a gust of wind... 4 1/2 pounds
of camera, kevlar, and aluminum hitting you in the face at 60 mph.. Not
harmless in any scenario... That is why even the pros fly them aside the
track over access roads and never in the path of the rider. Pro MX
doesn't even use them, they use cable cams or hand held... Ever wonder
why network sports aren't really using them, too much liability, too
many variables....

Drones below 500' are the wild west these days but the heavy thumb of
government is coming rapidly to only make it available to those who
can pay to play.
Expect a very strict licensing scheme to arise that blocks out anyone
who can't pay a million bucks to a lawyer.who spreads that money out
in bribes (er...campaign contributions)

Not sure I want that much restriction but it should be illegal to fly
them anywhere near folks who are not directly involved in flying like
race tracks, neighborhoods, roads, parking lots, fair grounds, etc...
There is a field just about 500 yards down the road where they fly all
the time, that's all they do there, that's where these things belong.

Right, because parents who send their kidlets out to race motorcycles
are concerned about the safety and welfare of their progeny.

If right-wing assholes could fly,
rec.boats would be an airport!
