Everything is safer
With guns in the world...
An Indiana man was arrested Sunday morning after he accidentally fired
his handgun while shopping at Walmart.
Jasper police said 65-year-old Kenneth Pirtle told them he reached
into his front shirt pocket in the store’s checkout area to grab
something.
But instead, he accidentally fired the .40-caliber handgun in his
pocket.
The bullet went through his pant leg, hit the concrete floor,
ricocheted, and then struck a wall.
Pirtle suffered minor leg burns and refused treatment, and no one else
was injured.
Police said other items in Pirtle’s pocket might have contributed to
the accidental shooting.
Pirtle was charged with criminal recklessness with a firearm.
