Then the question would be, if they were tearing up your yard and
chasing you around, would you want someone to come kill them or would
you just say you were encroaching on habitat and let them thrive
We used to see them often beside the long, woods lined road that led to
the house in Florida. We were warned that they were filthy and disease
ridden and being attacked and gored by one was a very serious issue.
Never saw them in our yard though. Just had alligators, rattlesnakes,
coral snakes, and armadillos. Oh, and horses.
Are your horses close to natural death age...because you might not be
moving south until they've sprouted their horsie wings. 
Unfortunately they are only about halfway to maybe three-quarters
through their typical lifespan. Mrs.E got them when they were about 2-3
years old and that was 13 years ago. They'll probably out-live me.
