I think you mean "Senate". They lost 60 when TK died and a republican
replaced him.

That is what Nancy said tho. It was because if the house did not pass
the frankenstein Baucus bill from the senate unaltered (and unread)
it would have to go to reconciliation and another senate vote that
they would never get.


No, I meant "House". When the ACA was passed in 2010 the Democrats
still held both the House and the Senate. Both had health care reform
bills being considered but in the 11th hour the Senate's version was
ratified by the Democratically controlled House. Nancy Pelosi and
Harry Reid worked it out.
