The only thing I can think of is offing Bin Laden. That was not a
trivial accomplishment and he certainly does deserve credit for
approving the plan. Not everyone would have done that. Other than
that he's a huge disappointment of course. I had hoped that he might
provide some much needed inspiration and leadership to the inner city
youth of this country but that doesn't seem to be one of his
priorities.
It was a rather tasteless action to invite his closest associates to
watch the offing proceedings. Hillery appeared to be the only one
offended by watching the event live.

I watched the World Trade Center towers being built back in the late
60s/early 70s, literally from the hole in the ground all the way to
the top of the top. I worked on Wall Street a few blocks from there,
and after the towers were completed, enjoyed quite a few lunches,
dinners and parties from the top floor at Windows on the World
restaurant. Great place. And then on 9/11 within the space of a
few hours I saw the north tower burst into flames, the second plane
hit the south tower, and both towers collapse. My old IBM sales rep
was killed, a beautiful charming woman with two small children, as
well as countless friends-of-friends and relatives of friends.
Personally I would have paid just about anything to watch the Bin
Laden offing.
