What do you mean by 'he just took himself for a walk'? I hope you don't mean he's left to die on his
own. Our farm dog did that - just walked out to the pasture by himself. After a few hours we went
looking for him. Found him laying under a tree, very peacefully.

He just decides to take off now and then and when he does he won't
come back. Chasing him only makes it worse. He just got back. He was
sitting across the street for about 4 hours staring at the house.
I tried everything to get him to come back.
Finally he just strolled over like nothing had happened. I think he
may have heard thunder.

Whew! Had me worried there for a bit.
