air cooled generator cooling
 

I have a 3KW diesel generator which I want to install on my boat.

However the generator is air cooled.

I plan to place the generator in a sealed enclosure and keep it cool by
blowing in air which has been cooled by passing it over the steel sole/ base
plate.

Has anyone tried this and had problems etc?

Will the air blown in be enough to keep the generator from overheating?
