Having never had a boat before i'm somewhat bemused by some of the kit on
board

I have a Mercury V6 150HP engine

theres a black cylindrical object with wires coming from it in the boat
above the fuel tank with two pipes of calbes that lead to the engine

that is this? power steering unit ? or something ? its about 4 inches in
diameter and 6 inches mong
